Indiana American Water is requesting its customers across the state use water wisely this summer.
This requested is stemmed from the recent Water Shortage Warning issued for all counties in Indiana.
Indiana American Water is implementing several strategies to reduce water usage at its facilities, including limiting distribution system flushing and accelerating leak detection surveys and repair programs as necessary.
A Wise Water Use pilot program underway in several communities is also educating customers on ways to conserve water.
Customers can help use water wisely in their homes by tightening up their water practices and implementing as many of the water saving tips below as possible.
Nearly 60% of the water used by Indiana American Water around the state comes from groundwater sources, with the remainder coming from surface water supplies. Additional wise water use tips can be found online by clicking on “wise water use” under the Learning Center tab at www.indianaamwater.com .
