TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Good news for fans of track and field.

It was announced that the Terre Haute Convention and Visitor Bureau will be the site of an Indiana track and field hall of fame and museum.

It will show memorabalia from the careers of more than 400 Indiana athletes.

Two olympians and several well known coaches came to the announcement to celebrate.

"We're going to showcase all these athletes. There are 404 inductees. There are 23 men that are Olympians, five women. We're going to showcase this in it's proper light," Dave Patterson from the Terre Haute Visitors Bureau said.

Much of the project will be funded by private donations.
