TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A new chairman of Vigo County's Republican Party was elected Saturday.

Former Chairman Bill Treadway resigned to spend more time with family and focus on his campaign for county council.

Randall Gentry was elected Chairman during a caucus Saturday morning at the Vigo County Public Library.

He's been involved in local politics for over 20 years and wants to provide an even transition.

"We have a lot of positive things locally with the local candidates, and I'm looking forward to pushing that forward and building on the success that we've had in the past," Vigo County Republican Chairman Randall Gentry said.

Gentry said his focus now, is the upcoming election, November 6th.

He said he was impressed with the turn out Saturday morning. More than 30 people attended the caucus.
