Vehicle crashes into tree

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - One person is hospitalized after an early morning crash.

It happened around 3:00 Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 40 and Tabortown Road. That's in eastern Vigo County.

Police say the Chevy Avalanche crashed into a tree.

The impact of the crash knocked the tree into the middle of Highway 40.

Authorities say those at the scene removed the driver from the car. The driver was taken by helicopter to the hospital with unknown injuries.

An investigation continues.
