TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Union Hospital in Terre Haute is the first to qualify in Indiana for a new program.
Union Hospital earns its Survivorship Training and Rehab Program Certification.
The program offers rehabilitation services to cancer survivors who suffer from debilitating side effects from treatments.
There are ten different elements to the program, focusing on more than just rehabilitation.
"I got very depressed when I couldn't do the things I wanted to do, and the things I had done, and how do I get back. I know how to do it but...I found a way," Susan Roseff said.
The STAR program is reimbursable.
It was made possible through a grant from Union Hospital Foundation, thanks to an anonymous donor.
