TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The community came out to support neighbors with cerebral palsy.
WTHI-TV's annual UCP Telethon was held at Clabber Girl in Terre Haute throughout the day Saturday.
As always, several autographed items were bided on to help make the day a success.
Susie Thompson, Executive Director of the United Cerebral Palsy of the Wabash Valley, said it’s not easy for the community to contribute like they did.
“It really is difficult to raise money in the environment of not for profit. We know that the community and people are hurting…For them to give up a little bit of money from their budget means a great deal for us,” said Thompson.
So far, this year's telethon raised over $30,000. That's more than its original goal.
