One remains hospitalized after crash

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - One person remains hospitalized, and a Wabash Valley university building remains temporarily closed, after a vehicle slammed through two walls.

A little after 8:00 a.m. Indiana State Police responded to a call of the crash in Vincennes, Indiana.

The initial investigation revealed a man was driving a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) near Chestnut St. and Indianapolis Ave. when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway on the left-hand side.

The SUV struck a utility pole and continued traveling about a quarter of a mile, and finally stopped after the vehicle struck the side of the Vincennes University Technology Building.

The vehicle went through two walls coming to rest under a stairwell. 

The driver was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. 

A student in a classroom was treated and released from the hospital.

The condition both the driver is unknown at this time. 

According to Vincennes University, The accident caused a power outage at multiple campus buildings, causing administrators to cancel classes until Noon when classes will resume a regular schedule.
