TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Some store customers show their competitive side, sending turkeys down the lane.
The Salvation Army and GFS Marketplace teamed up to sponsor the fifth annual Turkey Bowling outing.
Customers could either bring or buy a non-perishable item at GFS to donate to the Salvation Army, or make a monetary donation and enter the Turkey Bowling competition.
The winning prize is a complete Thanksgiving dinner from GFS.
"It's extremely important for us that as a community all the can goods and the money that we raise today go right back to the community. They don't leave Terre Haute so they automatically go right to the Salvation Army here for the local needs that we have," GFS Marketplace Store Manager Wade Fulford said.
Organizers say the nicer weather this year really helped with amount of participants.
