VERMILLION CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Vermillion County 4-H Jr. Leaders and friends will be out and about in costume on October 30 and 31 trick or treating for canned goods, non-perishables (flour, sugar, boxed food such as pasta, etc.), necessities such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc. and personal necessities such as soap, shampoo and personal hygiene items.
All items will be donated to food pantries servicing the communities in which the items are collected. It is helpful to those volunteering at food pantries to be sure that donated items have no expired.
Communities that are planned to be covered as much as possible are: October 30 starting at 6:00 p.m. in Newport, Ind. followed by Cayuga, Ind.; October 31 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Fairview Park followed by Clinton.
On October 30, Jr. Leaders and friends will gather at the courthouse at 6:00 p.m. On October 31, they’ll meet at South Vermillion Middle School at 6:00 p.m.
Jr. Leaders will have a white bag with a green 4-H clover to be easily identifiable even in costume. Parents of Jr. Leaders will be driving.
If we miss your house, please take donated items to the closest Vermillion county bank and Jr. Leaders will be sure to get those items picked up and taken to the closest pantry.
Working together, we can make a difference!
