PRINCETON, Ind. (WTHI) - The Toyota plant in Princeton, Ind. announces it will begin building a new model, adding hundreds of new jobs.
In a press conference Wednesday, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana says it will increase production of the Highlander mid-size SUV in late 2013.
This includes hybrid and export versions.
The $400 million dollar project will create approximately 400 new jobs at the plant.
Part of the reason for the new investment is the global demand for the Highlander, which will no longer be built in Japan by late 2013.
TMMI hopes to produce approximately 50,000 units per year.
