TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - With the time change coming up also comes one big reminder.
Early Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. marks the beginning of Daylight Saving Time.
So you will need to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
Daylight saving time is also a reminder for a household chore that could save your life.
It's a good chance to check your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors.
“If that’s in your mind, saying, I’m going to change my clock tonight, oh, and I’ve got to change my battery in the detector too. That’s what we want in your head,” said Richard Gallagher, Terre Haute Fire Department.
Officials recommend testing the batteries monthly and changing them once a year. They also offer free detectors and batteries if you stop by the station.
And will even come out to your home to change it for you!
