TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One Vigo County college made a high school student's future much brighter on Wednesday.

Saint Mary of the Woods College gave out their most prestigious scholarship.

It's called the Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarship, named after the college's founding saint.

It's awarded each year to a senior who demonstrates academic talent, community service, and leadership skills.

Terre Haute North Senior, Jordan Bray was this year's recipient. She said she is thrilled to receive such a high on honor from the university.

"I'm looking forward to obviously getting my degree. I'm really hoping to just mature and better myself, better my people skills," Bray said.

Bray will receive a $13,000 scholarship, renewable each of her four years at Saint Mary of the Woods College.
