If you remember in May of 2010, the Terre Haute Airport Board decided to put eight planes up for sale on eBay to raise some much needed money.

We spoke with airport officials on Monday, who told us four of those planes sold.

All four planes totaled a little more than $100,000

This money was used to pay off one loan and eliminated $850 in monthly loan payments.

The remaining funds were used to pay down a second loan.

If you remember, these airplanes were used for the flight school, but with declining enrollment, the airport needed to get rid of some to save money.

The sale of these airplanes will end up saving the Airport Authority Board around $54,000 annually in insurance, maintenance and payments.

Officials say they still have the four other planes and so far, no decision has been made about whether to put those planes up for sale again.
