Teen welds support for Wounded Warriors

MARSHALL, Ill. (WTHI) - One Marshall, Illinois student is trying to mold up some funds for a great cause.

Abi Snyder is a 16-year-old, who loves to weld artwork. Artwork that she's selling now, with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors Project.

She has family members in the military, and said she wants to help the organization that helps injured service men and women.

Her goal is to raise at least $10,000 after a three day fundraiser in October. The events began in Marshall on October 4 and are continuing through October 6th.

She's already off to a flying start, having collected several items signed by celebrities, including Toby Keith and Eric Church.

Those items are up for auction.

She even planned a charity football game and a bowling outing.

Snyder said her goal is to spread awareness for the Wounded Warriors Project.

"I know I'm 16 and might not always have the biggest impact, but I just want to make as big of a difference as I can," Snyder said.
