Sullivan City receives rehabilitation grant

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTHI) - Downtown Sullivan will soon get a face lift.
A group dedicated to cleaning-up the city of Sullivan called Streets of Sullivan received a $5,000 grant allowing them to shape-up the city's appearance.
The money will go towards restoring masonry work and exterior paint for a building located on the north side of the Sullivan square.
Judy Benjochea, a member of the Streets of Sullivan group says "We managed to get the building owner to offer a $5,000 cash match and we asked the level one worker’s at the Carlisle Correctional Facility to do the labor."
Due to brick work needed on the side of a building, construction can't start until workers see consistently warm temperatures.
Benjochea says the project will probably start sometime in May or early June.
