BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTHI) - Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed the storm that rolled through parts of Greene County, IN, overnight was not a twister but was instead straight-line winds.

Damage was pretty much concentrated to one area along State Road 43 in the town of Solsberry, about 15 miles from the county seat of Bloomfield.

A couple of homeowners lost roofing shingles in the blast of wind that rolled through town around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. Austin Combs, chief of the Eastern Fire Department in the Beech Creek Township, confirmed that there were no injuries, and that power was restored to all utility customers by 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The NWS made the straight-line winds assessment based on data, damage, and eyewitness accounts. The office had no immediate plans to send a ground crew to assess damage in-person.
