Special clubs adapting to smoking ban

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Special clubs are reacting after Vigo County accepts a stricter smoking ban.

Club Soda in Terre Haute offers help for people who've had issues with drug and alcohol addiction.

Much of their clientele smokes, but under the new ordinance, the club would not be able to allow smoking on the inside.

That doesn't sit well with some of the members we spoke with. However, officials with the club said they'll accommodate the ordinance, adding an outdoor area for smoking.

They said it'll be beneficial in the long run.

"One of the common themes that Ihear about people that choose not to come to the meetings that we facilitate at the clubs is the amount of cigarette smoke that we have here," George Fields, program director at Club Soda said.
