Vandals hit used car lot, damage 4 cars

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - Police and fire investigators look for clues into vandalism at a southern Indiana used car lot.

Vandals hit Dave's Used Cars on 7th Street in Vincennes in the early morning hours of Friday.

At least four vehicles were damaged, including one that was set on fire.

Fire investigators say a passing motorist noticed a burning rag hanging out of the gas tank of one vehicle.

A quick response kept the situation from turning out even worse.

"With as close as their cars are parked, in another five minutes or less we could have had four or five vehicles on fire," said Vincennes Fire Department Arson Investigator Sonny Pinkstaff.

Authorities say they need your help with the investigation.

They are asking anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area of 7th and Harrison Streets in Vincennes between midnight and one this morning to contact the Vincennes Fire Department.
