VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) - A program to improve the homes of senior citizens in a southern Indiana county gets some corporate support.
Officials with Up With Knox County gathered at the site of one of their latest projects to accept a helping hand from Toyota.
The all volunteer organization uses donations from the community and a lot of labor to improve the homes of seniors.
Toyota officials say they were so impressed with the project they donated $2,500 to help keep it operating.
"I think the really key thing is the number of volunteers they have involved and how much grassroots community support," said Toyota spokesman Kelly Dillon.
Up with Knox County plans another round of home improvements for senior citizens next month.
Toyota officials say they hope the project becomes a role model for other communities.
