OAKTOWN, IND. (WTHI) - Authorities in southern Indiana bring in more eyes and feet to try and find a missing teen.

Clinton Hamilton, 19, of Bicknell vanished without a trace last month after a ride with friends ended with his vehicle stuck in high water in northern Knox County.

Searchers covered miles of ground hoping to find more clues into the young man's disappearance.

About 50 Vincennes University Law Enforcement students signed up to take part in a search of a rural area along the Wabash River in northern Knox County.

Most of those taking part in the search are about the same age as Clinton Hamilton who disappeared here in December.

Authorities say the work on this day is a continuation of an effort to try and determine what happened to the young man.

"That's why, you know the Conservation Officers have not quit searching," said Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris. "Our officers have not quit interviewing. We're not going to slow down until we gain closure."

Authorities say that since Clinton Hamilton disappeared they've done a lot of searches of the area, but those were done by air and by boat.

"We were out here in boats for 5 weeks," said Indiana Conservation Officer Joe Haywood. "The water level went down and now we're on foot and that's a little different than what we have been doing."

The search for Hamilton or clues that might lead to him took the crews down through the rugged and frozen river bottom along the Wabash.

They trudged for hours across the frozen ground, covering about 5 square miles, but the search produced nothing new.

The mystery of Clinton Hamilton's disappearance still is one that has not been solved.

Police say they are planning to do some more searches of the river banks downstream in the near future in hopes of locating Hamilton.
