VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - A southern Indiana school system looks for a future for 4 vacant buildings.
The Vincennes Community School system now has 3 buildings near downtown that it no longer has a use for.
Adams Coliseum, the old Clark Middle School and the former Administration Building served the school system for almost 100 years but the students will no longer go to classes there.
The school system has also shut down the Washington Elementary School.
The school board has appointed a 12 member committee to search for solutions to the surplus property.
"in this time of tighter budgets and cost restraints we just don't need to be spending money on buildings that aren't being used." David Skinner, a member of the committee tells News 10.
The newly formed committee intends to take public comments on the future of the buildings and then present a plan to the school board latter this year.
