Miraculous project for one local church

A crew of volunteers and missionaries tear off the old roof of the Grace Baptist Church.

Church leaders call this a pretty miraculous project.

That's because the church didn't have any money to replace its worn out roof.

That changed when the Baptist Builders Club gave them 7,000 dollars for materials.

“Now we were down to about 3,000 dollars but we still didn't know how we were going to come up with it, so we as a congregation got together and we prayed about it," said Reverend Louis Showers.

That prayer was answered when a neighboring restaurant bought a small section of land to expand its parking lot.

Still, the church needed labor to fix the roof and that involved more prayers, bringing the Continental Baptist Mission in to help.

“Let me pray about it and let me see if it's the Lord's will to be there and it went from there,” said Steven Meyers of the Continental Baptist Mission. “The Lord guided us here and we're here for the duration of the project."

Anybody who has ever planned a construction project knows that things don't always come together exactly right but in this case everything's worked out.

“We believe you do your part and God will do his part, and he has done it and done it more than sufficiently for us. So, we've been excited to see how he's doing it,” said Reverend Sowers.

For the missionaries on the roof, this is something they see all the time.

“It's just neat to see how God's worked all over the United State's and Canada. It's just fantastic," said Meyers.

And the replacement of a big problem roof with a small amount of cash has turned into the answer to the prayers at this small church.
