VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) - A southern Indiana city strikes a deal clearing the way for clean-up of a major eyesore.
Officials in Vincennes say they will begin clearing the old Gimbel Corner lot immediately.
Late Monday afternoon the owner of the lot--Travis Tarrants--signed an agreement turning the property over to the city.
The lot has been a headache for city and downtown merchants since the historic building burned last December.
Mayor Joe Yochum says now that the city has the lot, it is ready to get it cleared.
