VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) - Cops and kids got together in southern Indiana for the annual Shop with a Cop event.
If there was any question before now,the aisles of the Vincennes Walmart showed the holiday season has arrived.
The store was filled with more than 200 Head Start kids, police of all kinds and their helpers for the annual Shop with a Cop event.
Officers say that even though donations were down a little they were still able to spend $170 on each of the low income kids for Christmas.
"We couldn't do this if it were not for the people who donate, contribute money, individuals, businesses, civic organizations, just so many people," said Vincennes Police Lieutenant Steve Chesser with the Vincennes Fraternal Order of Police, "and we really appreciate them, supporting it every year because it really shows in these kids faces."
This is the 15th year the Vincennes Fraternal Order of Police Chapter has put on the event.
