VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) - A massive fire takes down the building of a southern Indiana business.
The Sure Clean Company had been operating out of the old Roller Dome building on the north side of Vincennes, but an overnight fire brought the building down.
Even as fire fighters were putting out the last of the flames, the company's owners were putting a plan into place to stay in business.
The fire at Sure Clean was large, spectacular, dangerous and to the owners who had renovated the building devastating.
"Just coming down the road and my heart sunk and it was like it never hit me, until I pulled down 41 and actually seen the flames shooting out," said company co-owner Ron Primus.
Firefighers from several departments responded to the call, but the fire had too big of a start.
"It had a couple of roofs on it," said Vincennes Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tim Smith. "The fire had a pretty good head start before we arrived on the scene and a tremendous fire load."
Because of the nature of the Sure Clean business, there were some concerns that there were chemicals inside the building, but fire fighters say they did not have to face that problem.
No one was injured in the fire, and even though they have not pin-pointed an exact cause investigators are calling it accidental.
The company is in the business of dealing with the damage left behind by a fire.
Even while the building smoldered the owners were putting their plan into to place to keep all 50 employees working and serving customers.
"We're definitely going to build it back," said Primus. "We've got a great crew, loyal staff and employees and stuff backing everything we're doing so we've got crews going out right now."
So, despite the damage left behind in the fire.
The plan is to work on and get ready to build a future.
The company plans to tear down the building as soon as possible and rebuild on the same location.
