KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Knox County is now under a burn ban, due to the extreme dry and warm conditions.

Knox County Emergency Management Agency Director John Streeter initiated the burn ban this afternoon, which was immediately signed-off by the Knox County Commissioners.

The county-wide ban prohibits all types of outdoor burning-including the burning of trash, tree limbs or yard debris.

The burn ban does NOT include grilling.

The burn ban for Knox County is in effect until July 2, 2012.
