VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Drivers skillfully maneuver around the final bend, fighting gravity, slowing down not by break, but by releasing the trigger then they pull the triggers to the handles in the final home-stretch dash to the finish.

We're sure some of you might remember what it is, while others haven’t the slightest clue.  Or maybe you've seen it before, but didn't know what it was called exactly.

The interesting thing is, you may have run into this hobby sport in the form of children’s toys; however, there's a competitive racing circuit right here in the Wabash Valley, that you might have missed.

News 10’s Chief Photojournalist Mike Latta found a group of slot car racing professionals that have created and raced around local circuits for years.

To learn more about Slot Car Central, you may visit their Facebook page here, or their website here.
