TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The community came together Sunday, for food, fun, and a little pampering, all for donations.
Elements Salon and Spa hosted a fundraiser Sunday afternoon, to raise money for Terre Haute Police Department's K-9 Unit, in memory of Officer Brent Long.
The money will go towards training exercises and maintenance.
The day included music, a Terre Haute Police Department (THPD) K-9 demonstration, dunking booth, face painting, and haircuts for donations.
Elements Salon and Spa stylist and Event Coordinator Danna Andreas stated that the stylists notice how Ofc. Long's death still affects his family when they come in. Andreas also said Elements held the fundraiser to remind the Long family, THPD and their K-9 Unit that they are appreciative of everything that has been sacrificed for the safety of the community from Ofc. Long, the THPD and the K-9 units.
If you didn't get a chance to attend Sunday, you can still donate to Terre Haute Police Department directly or at Elements Salon. Their address is:
511 W Honey Creek Dr.
Terre Haute, IN 47802
