TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The recent increase in price for Powerball lottery tickets hasn't stopped Valley customers from trying their luck.

The tickets now cost $2 but the Fort Harrison Mini Mart said they're still seeing a lot of business.

Wednesday night’s $250 million Powerball has people spending upwards of $20 to $40 on lottery tickets.

Store clerks say a lot of hopeful customers are already planning what to do with their possible winnings.

"I've heard several people that said they're going to leave the state and never come back,” Adam Hartman, a store clerk said. “I've had a couple people say they would buy an island, a lot of people said they'd tell their boss to take a hike."
