TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local church is bringing awareness to hunger problems.

The First Congregational Church in Terre Haute was the starting place of the Crop Hunger Walk Sunday evening.

Folks who participated in the event walked 5K, which equals a little over three miles.

Organizers said it’s not uncommon for people around the world to have to walk three miles-a-day just to get food and clean water to drink.

Today, they walked to bring awareness to the troubling stat.
