INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - If you tried a visit to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Friday, you probably noticed a glitch in the system.

For more than three hours Friday morning, Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) locations couldn’t complete most branch and online transactions.

The BMV was able to process title and registration renewals during the outage, but most tasks weren’t possible to complete.

A spokesperson said the outage happened because of a security system server.

The national company running the server is investigating that problem.

BMV locations were back up and running by noon.
