TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Terre Haute pharmacist accused of trading drugs for sexual favors appeared in court Wednesday.

Indiana State Police arrested 68-year-old John Webb Monday night.

Investigators say Webb stole money and drugs from JR's Pharmacy located inside Baesler’s Super Market.

Investigators say Webb gave drugs to his family, friends and used them himself.

They say he often met people in the parking lot and gave away medication for free.

Sergeant Joe Watts, with the Indiana State Police says, "A lot of these prescriptions were false, they were not issued by an authorized doctor. Some of the medications that were dispensed by Mr. Webb were allegedly dispensed to family members without a prescription."

JR, the owner of JR’s Pharmacies told News 10, Webb was the first pharmacist he ever hired.

Webb is being held on a $75,000 bond and is expected to return to court next week.
