TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One local organization received a holiday miracle.

Walmart selected Families By Choice as a beneficiary of their 12 days of giving. The not-for-profit organization received $12,500 from the corporation.

Executive Director Muriel Ryan said this comes at an opportune time.

They will use the money to make sure they are financially stable. She couldn't be happier with the corporation’s generosity.

“The community’s been very generous. But this will make sure that when we come out of the winter, we’re not paying winter bills. This’ll make sure that we’re prepared to pay our insurance next spring,” said Muriel Ryan, Executive Director.

Families By Choice works with people who don’t have shelter, food or clothing.
