TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Folks in the Wabash Valley contribute to a special project for our troops overseas.
More than 1,000 Old Navy stores across the country, including the one in Terre Haute, took part in Operation Care and Comfort.
Customers donated necessities like t-shirts, socks and even underwear to troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Those who donated an item received a 10 percent off coupon.
"I like it a lot because a lot of troops over there are working hard," said SrA Emre Dogru with the 181st Intel Wing. "I know through friends of mine that it means a lot to them when people send packages over to know that they are thinking of them."
Around 344 items were dropped off. They will now be sent to troops overseas.
Monday was the last day for this project.
If you would still like to donate to the men and women serving our country, contact your local Red Cross.
