On-site clinic proposed to VCSC

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Vigo County School Board members discuss the possibility of an on-site clinic for employees and their dependents.

The concept was presented to the board at Monday night's meeting.

The clinic would provide primary care, wellness and risk assessment to school employees on the group insurance program.

The clinic would also provide education and resources to employees and their dependents on how to live healthier lives.

The hope is that this would help reduce their health care costs.

This is a fairly new concept for schools.

"I think there's going to be some things that we adjust as we go through when we put the concept in," said Paul Biltimier. "By those adjustments you make it more effective for the people and their dependents."

The board will discuss this further before a decision is made.
