TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Several drivers are injured after a multi-car crash Tuesday morning.

Terre Haute Police told News 10 that an officer saw the driver of a pickup acting suspicious while traveling south near 13th and Crawford Streets around 9:45 a.m.

The officer attempted to have the pickup pulled over; however, police said the pickup sped up and hit a line of cars stopped at the light.

Witnesses told News 10’s photographer on the scene that several people worked together to extinguish a fire from one of the cars, and pulled a woman out of one of the other vehicles.

Police also said a Terre Haute police officer was involved in the crash.

The officer and the few others injured were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said they’re still trying to figure out whether it was a medical reason or another factor that caused the truck to crash into the vehicles.

News 10 will keep you informed as more information surfaces about the wreck.
