TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - There's no text that's worth dying for.
That's the message some local high school received Tuesday morning.
AT&T teams up with the Vigo County School Corporation to spread the "It Can Wait" pledge.
The goal is to curb all texting while driving.
A virtual reality simulator was brought in to show the students how easy it is to get distracted.
Indiana's Attorney General was on hand to talk about how texting can wait, but your life cannot.
"You're the ones who are really going to have to be leaders in this movement," Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller said. "It's not going to come from your legislature. It's not going to come from your Attorney General."
Texting ranks as the number one mode of communication among teens, making it that much more important to stop texting and driving at an earlier age.
