TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Terre Haute Police Department will be hosting a fun night out on Tuesday.

The Indiana State Police Department and the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department will also be along side the THPD.

National Night Out is part of a national initiative for the local community to be able to meet and enjoy the company of local law enforcement in a safe, fun environment.

There will also be games for the kids to play.

National Night Out will be held at Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute, IN, and will allow members of the community and law enforcement to build a stronger relationship, with the hopes of keeping the streets safer for all.

Admission to the event is free, as is parking on the park’s east side.

National Night Out begins at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m.
