PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - Simonton Windows has plans to expand their company this year.
Their supporting corporation, Alluminite, will also start production nearby.
That move will create as many as 75 more jobs.
Paris Mayor Craig Smith says this news just adds to their 2011 economic success.
"With employment improving, the hospital adding on, new apartments were build in 2011, so this just follows along with what was going on in 2011. It'll make a very good addition to the work force, which has been good any way," Mayor Smith said.
Mayor Smith says if you're looking to start a new business, or just need some help with your existing business, Paris is the place to be.
He says Paris is an economic development community.
It's economic incentive program can really help.
They're even beginning economic study sessions for residents to understand the grants and loans process and to help make businesses more successful.
The first class will begin next month.
Hiring will begin this spring.
