INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - More Hoosiers are signing up to go back to school, thanks to a new online university.
WGU Indiana is a branch of Western Governors University, a private, nonprofit university designed for working adults trying to earn bachelor's or master's degrees.
The number of student for fall is nearly double that during the summer months.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels announced in June the state reached an agreement with the University, so Hoosiers could use state scholarships to pay for tuition at the computer based program.
Daniels hoped the partnership would spur more adults to earn their degrees through the online program.
Tuition at WGU Indiana is about $6,000 a year. Students are charged a flat rate and move at their own pace instead of being charged per credit hour or semester.
