Moped accident identified

TERRE HAUTE, IND. (WTHI) - News 10 is following a serious moped accident just east of Terre Haute. The accident happened on just north of highway 40 on the 900 block of Hunt St.

The accident happened around 10:30 Saturday night when passerby’s located a male lying in a ditch next to his moped, not breathing and unresponsive

The driver of the moped was identified as Robert B. Hoole from Terre Haute.

Police say the moped had veered into a ditch on the side of the road. The man was severely hurt and an ambulance was on the scene.

Medics, and deputies from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, arrived on scene. Medics transported Robert to Union Hospital where he was revived and later flown to an Indianapolis Hospital due to his injuries.

Police say a blood draw at the hospital showed Hoole's blood alcohol content to be .216%.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the accident.
