VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind - A Wabash Valley man, has a few tricks up his dog's sleeves, to fight a growing problem.
News 10 has told you about the dangers of cell phones in prisons.
Jack Shannon has experience in law enforcement. Right now he trains dogs in his company.
He has some special ideas on how to fight the problem, using his trained dogs.
"Any type of contraband, a dog can find. So we now do cell phone detection dogs," Trainer, Jack Shannon said.
He said his dogs could be useful finding cell phones in prisons.
"A dog can go in and find a cell phone where an officer might miss out," Shannon said.
Shannon said it's fun for the dog, and could potentially help root out the problem. Right now his dogs are not being used in an official capacity. He hopes that will soon change.
