BICKNELL, Ind. (WTHI) - A Bicknell, Indiana man was treated for injuries Thursday after being shot in the stomach. Knox County Sheriff's deputies responded to an apartment complex on State Road 159 in Bicknell after receiving reports of a man being shot.

According to a press release, David Erdmann, 24, of Knox County was in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend when he entered an apartment next to hers. Edrmann went into that apartment armed with a knife, according to a witness statement. Erdmann was shot by that apartment's tenant.

The tenant, whose name is not being released, acted in self defense, according to the press release.

Erdmann underwent surgery for his injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital; it's not yet clear if he will face charges. The incident remains under investigation.
