Man injured in accident on 41

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Terre Haute man is hospitalized after a crash involving a moped.

It happened near the intersection of U-S 41 and Johnson Avenue just after 4:00 Monday afternoon.

Police say the driver of a Cobalt, Leslie Larsen, 25, of Danville, Indiana was stopped in the turning lane.

That's when they say she felt a jolt.

As she continued driving, she told police she felt something dragging on her car.

That turned out to be a moped.

The moped's driver, Derrick Gibson, 49, of Terre Haute was lying in the road.

Gibson was flown to Methodist Hospital In Indianapolis where he's listed in critical condition.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
