TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local woman celebrated a very special birthday today more than a century after she was born.

Mary Brown turned 104 Thursday in her Terre Haute home. When we caught up with her  she was reading through cards from friends and family.

Born in 1908, Brown says she has a secret to living well into her hundreds.

"My secret being honest, I don't think it gets much better than that, being honest,” Mary told us.

Mary was surrounded by not only her grandchildren but also some great grandchildren.
