Local store paying it forward

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - When Suite 3, a gently used clothing store in Terre Haute, started up a year and half ago, owners Craig Eleopoulos and his mom Nita Alexander knew they wanted to be in the business of giving.

"Our store was opened on the fact that we receive something, so we need to give back," Eleopoulos said.

It began with Riley Children's Hospital.

"I started to give back.  The feeling is tremendous.  There's nothing that compares to it," he said in reference to what he experiences when giving back.

Now, the store donates to organizations like the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross.

And, it's not just in Terre Haute.

Soon, the American Red Cross will pick up a box of sweaters to deliver to Hurricane Sandy victims.

This winter, the store offers a special opportunity, encouraged by a local radio station's Random Acts of Christmas.

"What [WBGL] BGL was doing inspired me, so that was pretty much the spark behind what I want to do," he said.

Suite 3 wants to provide clothing to anyone who's been through a dramatic circumstance, such as natural disasters, fires or flood.

"We can pay it forward with our clothing, bless someone who really needs a Christmas miracle," he said.

If you need help, Suite 3 asks you to provide documentation of the incident.

For help or to donate, call (812) 460-0168.

Or stop by the store at:

  • 1800 Fort Harrison Road
  • Terre Haute, Indiana 47804
