TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local soup kitchen faces closing down after receiving word that they are in need of a new cook.
The leaders of the soup kitchen located in the Booker T. Washington Community Center have announced their cook is retiring.
The Vigo County organization has served Terre Haute for five years; however, officials said they don’t have the budget to hire a new chef.
The are hoping some of the area churches will provide help covering the cooking shifts.
If not, they say they’ll have to close shop.
