TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Terre Haute North Vigo High School's Junior Class held an event Wednesday night to benefit one local charity. The class hosted an event called "The Terre Haute North 2012 Olympics"

Students played basketball, soccer and volleyball in an effort to win gold, silver and bronze medals.

Students donated canned goods and socks to get into this year's games. They say it’s for a great cause.

“It feels good to be part of the community and help out with things in Terre Haute,  because we like to get involved as a class and just to have a role in other people’s lives to help out,” Josh Tucker, from the Terre Haute North Olympics said.

All of tonight's donations will go to Catholic Charities in Terre Haute.
