Local leaders issue moment of silence

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Leaders across the country, including here in the Wabash Valley are issuing a moment of silence for the victims in Connecticut.
Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. marks the one week anniversary of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Connecticut Governor Patrick Deval is encouraging people to reflect and Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett says he is hoping people in the Wabash Valley take part and show support.
"I would encourage our community to just take some time in the morning at 9:30 and stop and pause and pray for those families and think about how precious life," said Bennett. "It's just an unfortunate tragedy and hopefully we never seen anything like it again."
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has also shown his support of the moment of silence
