BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - One little girl is honored for her courageous efforts, after surviving a fire.

Last year, 7-year-old Carmen Schleppy of Brazil, suffered severe burns to 60 percent of her body after her skirt caught on fire.

Riley Children's Foundation recently chose Carmen as 2013 Riley Champion for her positive attitude and for helping others overcome obstacles.

This weekend, Riley Children's Foundation welcomed Carmen and seven others from across the state, into the class of Riley Champions, presented by Kroger.

The fun-filled weekend includes all eight survivors being honored on the court before the Pacers game and serving as Riley Coin Toss kids at the Colts game Sunday.
